I never thought I’d write a novel. I’ve always loved stories—especially sci-fi and fantasy epics—but actually sitting down to craft one? That felt like something other people did.
Growing up, I was in awe of writers like Isaac Asimov, Frank Herbert, and J.R.R. Tolkien. Their worlds felt vast, untouchable, and the idea of even attempting to create something in the same realm seemed almost arrogant. So, I never tried.
Then, late last year, everything changed.
I had a cancer scare. It turned out to be benign, but for a few long weeks, my world flipped upside down. Cliché as it sounds, it made me rethink everything. I realized how much time I’d spent putting off the things I truly wanted to do—assuming there would always be later. But what if there wasn’t?
Again … cliché. Until it happens to you.
So, out of nowhere, I started writing.
The initial reason is gone (the cancer was benign), but now I can’t stop.
The story I’m working on is a military sci-fi horror novel—a mix of tactical realism, existential dread, and high-stakes survival. Imagine Sicario in space meets Cthulhu, with a touch of Black Hawk Down (and by ‘a touch,’ I mean a full-force punch to the face). It follows the brutal clash between an unstoppable cosmic horror, a militarized human empire, and an evolving synthetic intelligence that may be the only thing standing between survival and annihilation… or the very reason humanity falls.
At first, I thought writing was just a way to process everything. But the deeper I go, the more I realize that it grounds me. It keeps me focused, helps me push forward, and, strangely enough, makes me better in other areas of life.
So here I am, building this world, these characters, this story—one that I hope will resonate with others who love dark, thrilling, and thought-provoking sci-fi. Or with anyone intrigued by the question that lingers in all of us:
Why are we here?
I’ll be sharing updates, behind-the-scenes insights, and eventually, the book itself. If you’re into military sci-fi, cosmic horror, or stories that explore the fragile line between survival and madness, I hope you’ll stick around.
I don’t know where this journey will take me.
For now, I just know I have to keep writing.
Follow my journey as I build this world and story.
If you’re into military sci-fi, cosmic horror, or stories that explore the fragile line between survival and madness, stick around. You can follow me on Medium as well.
I’ll be posting my novel soon on Royal Road—come check it out!
